Field staff use the Quality Control Booklet (QCB) to track the completion of tasks and procedures affecting the conduct of assessments and data quality. One QCB is completed by the assessment team leader for each grade at each sampled school.

The QCB provides a written record of contacts between field staff and school coordinators. It contains checklists for all required preassessment activities, assessment day activities and quality control checks, and post-assessment activities. Finally, it contains forms that supervisors or assessment coordinators use to report on the performance of assessment administrators.
