Sample questions booklets contain general information about the NAEP assessments. They are helpful to K-12 education administrators, teachers, parents, and students of participating schools and provide an idea of student achievement and what to expect during an assessment. The booklets include assessment directions as well as links to sample NAEP assessment questions and survey questionnaires that explore students' activities and characteristics related to education and the subject being assessed.
Sample questions booklets for upcoming and recent digital assessments and field tests are available below in PDF format. Booklets are listed by assessment year, (2020-2006) but can be searched by subject (i.e., arts, civics, long-term trend, economics, mathematics, reading, etc.) and by grade (4, 8, 12) or, for the long-term trend assessments, by age (9, 13, 17).
|1 Main assessments are administered to students in grades 4, 8, and 12. Long-term trend assessments are administered to students ages 9, 13, and 17, regardless of grade.|
