Public Schools
- 78 percent of public school teachers reported being evaluated during the last school year. Of those evaluated, 73 percent agreed that the evaluation process had a positive effect on their teaching.
- The average base salary of regular full-time teachers in public schools was $57,900.
- 96 percent of public school principals reported having a major influence on decisions concerning evaluating teachers, 89 percent reported having a major influence on hiring new full-time teachers, and 73 percent reported having a major influence on setting discipline policy.
- The average annual salary of public school principals was $98,300.
Private Schools
- 69 percent of private school teachers reported being evaluated during the last school year. Of those evaluated, 84 percent agreed that the evaluation process had a positive effect on their teaching.
- The average base salary of regular full-time teachers in private schools was $45,300.
- 86 percent of private school principals reported having a major influence on decisions concerning evaluating teachers, 87 percent reported having a major influence on hiring new full-time teachers, and 83 percent reported having a major influence on setting discipline policy.
