NOTE: Respondents were asked whether they have children, and were instructed to include stepchildren and children not living in the respondent’s household. Standard errors are in parentheses. The population excludes literacy-related non-response and cases for which information on children is not available. Detail may not sum to totals because of rounding. The percentages show, for example, that 78 percent of those with literacy below level 1 have children and that 22 percent of those with literacy below level 1 do not have children.
