Reaching Out to Disseminate Forum Work

As education leaders, Forum members often attend statewide or districtwide conferences and meetings. These gatherings provide excellent opportunities to inform colleagues about the Forum and Forum products. This Forum Outreach Site is intended to provide resources to assist members when making presentations and conducting other outreach activities.

One-Page Overview of the Forum

The Forum Overview (98 KB) contains information about the Forum's purpose, mission, membership, and organization, as well as the different types of resources that are developed by the Forum. A member may wish to distribute this overview to help their colleagues learn more about the Forum.

One-Page Overview of Recent Forum Publications

The Forum Publication Overview (278 KB) contains abstracts of recent Forum publications along with URLs for locating them on the Forum website. When introducing Forum publications, a member may wish to distribute the Forum Publication Overview to demonstrate the wide range of Forum activities and resources. It may also be useful to refer the group to the Forum website.

Each individual publication summary contains an abstract of a recent Forum publication.  The handouts complement the Forum Publication Overview or may be shared as stand-alone items.

National Forum on Education Statistics Resources Presentation

The National Forum on Education Statistics (Forum) Resources Presentation (10.3 MB) provides an overview of Forum resources. This annotated PowerPoint™ is an excellent vehicle to use when making a formal presentation at a local or state conference. It is useful to remember that the work of the Forum is very broad. There are Forum resources that would be of interest to administrators, technologists, and board members, as well as staff directly involved in data collection, maintenance, and reporting. As such, this Forum Resources Presentation is designed so that each presenter can tailor the content to the needs of their intended audience. After the introductory slides provide background information on the Forum, the PowerPoint™ file contains slides for recent Forum publications, online courses, and videos. A presenter may choose to select only a subset of these slides based on the purpose of the presentation and interests of the audience.
