NOTE: The data in this figure are from the Teacher Career Satisfaction Index, which is based on teachers' level of agreement with the following statements: (1) I am content with my profession as a teacher; (2) I am satisfied with being a teacher at this school; (3) I had more enthusiasm when I began teaching than I have now; (4) I do important work as a teacher; (5) I plan to continue as a teacher for as long as I can; and (6) I am frustrated as a teacher. Australia, Canada, Saudia Arabia, and United Kingdom (Northern Ireland) did not paricipate in PIRLS 2006.
