PISA 2022 Recruitment

Why Your Participation Matters

The Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) is an international assessment that measures 15-year-old students' reading, mathematics, and science literacy every 3 years. PISA informs national discussions on education policy and international competitiveness, so it is important for selected schools in the PISA sample to participate. When students participate and give their best effort, PISA gets the most accurate measure possible of student achievement; this cannot be done without your cooperation.

Impact of COVID-19 on the PISA 2021 Administration

Due to various coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic-related risks associated with conducting the PISA field test in the spring of the 2020–21 school year, the United States has opted to administer the PISA field test in fall 2021. This aligned with the OECD decision to move the PISA main study by one year from 2021 to 2022.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to pose significant challenges for state agencies, districts, and schools. PISA representatives’ top priority is protecting the health and safety of students and school staff. Our COVID-19 mitigation protocols applied during the PISA 2022 Field Test are shown here and were developed using CDC guidelines and the input of health professionals. PISA representatives will work with districts and schools to ensure their individual COVID-19 protocols are also followed. The conditions around COVID-19 remain fluid and we actively evaluate CDC guidelines and our protocols. Any changes to the protocols will be updated here.
