Ineligible and Eligible Sampled Schools by Jurisdiction

Ineligible Sampled Schools by Ineligibility Type

The Common Core of Data (CCD) file from which most of the sampled schools were drawn corresponds to the 1999–2000 school year, which was two years prior to the assessment school year. During the intervening period, some of these schools' districts either closed the school, or reorganized in the district to remove the NAEP grade of interest from the school. In other cases, there were schools on the CCD file that were sampled and were then found to be ineligible, as they indicated that they might be special schools not eligible for the NAEP assessment. In such cases, the sampled school was coded as ineligible.
