In 2004, read loud, large-print, and bilingual booklets were available for students who were identified by school officials as needing these type of accommodations for the long-term trend assessment. Mathematics booklets at ages 9, 13, and 17 were selected as read aloud booklets by the NAEP instrument development staff. One mathematics and reading booklet at each age level was identified as a large-print booklet. One mathematics booklets at age 9 and 13 were identified and used to create the bilingual booklets.
These booklets were given unique identification bar code numbers separate from the booklets used for regular testing. They were then packaged to be shipped to NAEP Supervisors.
