Students in more than than 1,500 schools participated in the 2006 civics assessment. The assessment was administered from January to March 2006 to approximately 7,000 students at grade 4, to 9,200 students at grade 8, and to 9,100 students at grade 12. The assessment measured students' knowledge of civics and American government.   More
