Inside NAEP

A New Era for NAEP Writing!

In 2007, 86 percent of twelfth-graders reported using a computer at least sometimes to compose a paper for school. From January through March 2011, NAEP will administer the 2011 writing assessment, which students in grades 8 and 12 will take in a fully computerized form. Students will compose and submit their answers to the prompts completely electronically. Learn more about the 2011 writing assessment.
