NOTE: The incidence of students who have ever been suspended out of school is cumulative across grade levels; for example, students in grade 12 have the greatest number of years as a student to have ever been suspended compared to kindergarten students who could have been suspended only in kindergarten or preschool. Prior to 2012, NHES data were collected by an interviewer over the telephone. The NHES:2012 utilized an Address Based Sampling frame and mail self-administered data collection instruments. Changes in estimates reported between 2012 and prior reporting years could be the result of changes in the population or in the data collection approach. Detail may not sum to totals because of rounding. | |||||||||||
