Parent and Family Involvement in Education questionnaire 2012 2016
Weighted response rate Standard error Weighted response rate Standard error
PFI 78.4 0.38 74.3 0.40
     PFI-Enrolled questionnaire 78.4 0.39 74.8 0.41
     PFI-Homeschooled questionnaire 78.7 2.29 61.3 2.00
NOTE: PFI response rates are expressed as percentages. The denominator of the response rate is sampled students in households that responded to the National Household Education Survey screener. Parents who indicated that the sampled child was homeschooled instead of attending a public or private school for some or all classes on the screener were mailed a PFI-Homeschooled questionnaire. Otherwise, parents were mailed a PFI-Enrolled questionnaire. Response rates are weighted by the inverse of the probability of selection for the PFI survey. NHES:2016 response rates reflect the full screener sample of 206,000 cases and include 35,000 screener cases that were part of an experiment to test data collection by web.
