Summary

The 1997 Directory of Postsecondary Institutions lists the known universe of 10,001 postsecondary institutions in operation in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the outlying areas at the close of academic year 1996-97. This publication is printed in two volumes. Volume 1 of the Directory lists all postsecondary institutions that award any degree, that is an associate's, bachelor's, master's, doctor's, or first-professional degree.
