Summary

The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) has released the Forum Guide to College and Career Readiness (CCR) Data (NFES 2026-003). This guide provides state and local education agencies with practical guidance for collecting, integrating, and using CCR data to support students’ successful transitions to postsecondary education and the workforce. CCR data include measures such as academic achievement, dual enrollment, career and technical education participation, postsecondary enrollment and persistence, and workforce outcomes. The guide outlines best practices for ensuring data quality, linking K–12, postsecondary, and workforce systems, and reporting information that meets the needs of educators, policymakers, and other stakeholders. It also features examples from states and districts that have used CCR data to strengthen cross-sector collaboration and expand opportunities for students.
