This report presents tabulations for the 1997-98 academic year that describe postsecondary education institutions in the United States (50 states and the District of Columbia). The data are from the Institutional Characteristics survey, a component of the Integrated Postsecondary Education System (IPEDS) of the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).
