Project Activities
- Supporting IES’s Vision: CHATS-Teams will establish a Technical Working Group (TWG) to guide the development of a Strong Field in ways that evolve with the community over five years. CHATS-Teams will also provide IES with logistical support as needed.
- Supporting ATS Initiative Applicants: To increase use of essential practices and proposal quality, CHATS-Teams will develop and adapt resources such as the LEARN to Scale Toolkit and other guides to support ATS applicants. We will offer applicant webinars, how-to guides, and checklists tailored to different stages of the innovation process.
- Building Capacity for ATS Awardees: To support awardees’ pathway to success, we will organize access to world-class expertise, drawing from DP and SRI strengths, our TWG, and external consultants in our and IES’s larger networks. CHATS-Teams will provide resources, organize professional development and convenings, and coordinate collaborative dissemination activities. Professional development workshops will build capacity in essential practices such as team science, inclusive design, and AI risk management. We will facilitate annual events for grantees to foster community building and knowledge exchange.
- Engagement with Stakeholders: CHATS-Teams will conduct outreach to a broad range of stakeholders from research, practice, policy, industry, and the public. To engage stakeholders and catalyze the ideas challenge, we will integrate an existing, proven third-party platform with unique expertise from our organizations. The hub will also offer webinars and large-scale convenings to elevate leaders, generate ideas, and expand the ATS ecosystem.
