"At school" includes the school building, school property, school bus, or going to and from school. Perceived personal characteristic totals may sum to more than 100 percent because students could have reported hearing more than one type of hate-related word. Detail may not sum to totals because of rounding and missing data. Totals are based on respondents for whom school are available. No school match was available for 971,000 students. Population estimate for all students meeting the age, grade and school criteria is 24,964,000.
