A selection of online tools and tutorials for exploring PIAAC data are provided below.

International Data Explorer (IDE)

This user-friendly, online analysis tool provided by NCES allows you to work directly with the PIAAC data and produce your own analyses, tables, regressions, and charts.

Skills Map

The U.S. PIAAC Skills Map is an interactive data tool that allows users to access state- and county-level data on the literacy and numeracy proficiency of adults ages 16–74 in all 50 states, all 3,141 counties, and the District of Columbia. The Skills Map also includes state- and county-level model-based estimates for six age groups and four education groups.

International Data Explorer (IDE) Video

This video provides comprehensive, step-by step instructions on how to use the International Data Explorer. It contains detailed information about the content and capabilities of the PIAAC IDE, as well as how the PIAAC data are organized in the tool.

Distance Learning Dataset Training

These NCES training modules are available online and allow you to learn at your own pace about the statistical procedures and methods that are available to analyze the PIAAC datasets.
