! Interpret data with caution. The coefficient of variation (CV) for this estimate is between 30 percent and 50 percent (i.e., the standard error is at least 30 percent and less than 50 percent of the estimate).
‡ Reporting standards not met. The coefficient of variation (CV) for this estimate is 50 percent or greater (i.e., the standard error is 50 percent or more of the estimate) or the response rate is below 50 percent.
1 Black or African-American teachers includes teachers who selected Black or African-American on the survey, regardless of whether other races were selected and regardless of the response to Hispanic or Latino origin. Seven percent of all public and private school teachers, 8 percent of public school teachers, and 4 percent of private school teachers selected Black or African-American on the survey.
2 All other teachers includes any teacher who did not select Black or African-American as a race category on the survey. These teachers selected one or more of the other race categories on the survey, but did not select Black or African-American. The other race categories on the survey were White, Asian, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, and American Indian or Alaska Native. A teacher's response to the separate survey question about Hispanic or Latino origin was not a factor.
NOTE: Teachers include both full-time and part-time teachers. Detail may not sum to totals because of rounding and because some data are not shown.
