NOTE: Results not shown for adults whose work and education status was "unknown" or "not stated or inferred." The population excludes literacy-related non-response. Apparent differences may not be statistically significant. This chart presents the percentage distribution across the population and PIAAC literacy proficiency levels for young adults ages 16-24 by education and work status categories. For example, 11 percent of 16-to 24-year olds are not in education or work and 20 percent of this group score below level 2 in literacy.
