About - History

In the early 1990s, NCES created the International Activities Program (IAP) to conduct the International Adult Literacy Survey (IALS) and the Third International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS), which is now known as the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS).
