! Interpret data with caution. Estimate is unstable because the standard error is between 30 and 50 percent of the estimate.
‡ Reporting standards not met either because the standard error is greater than 50 percent of the estimate or because there were too few cases for a reliable estimate.
1The HSLS:09 Second Follow-up (F2) composite X4HSCOMPSTAT for high school completion status was revised with F2 student response or Postsecondary Education Transcript Study and Student Financial Aid Records (PETS-SR) collection data information. Inconsistencies that exist between sources were resolved by prioritizing transcript outcome and course data. F2 reported events that occurred outside of the high school transcript window took priority.
2Black includes African American; Hispanic includes Latino; and Two or more races includes persons having origins in one or more race. Race categories exclude persons of Hispanic ethnicity.
NOTE: Algebra I was defined as SCED codes (02052, 02053, 02054). A failed Algebra I course status was based on whether Algebra I was found in more than 1 academic year and a student had any Algebra I term as fail in their transcripts. Estimates in this table pertain to fall 2009 ninth-graders. Estimates were weighted by W4STUDENT. The weight includes adjustments for HSLS F2 student nonresponse.
