NOTE: Adults are ages 25 to 64 and not enrolled in high school. The total number of adults is approximately 164,125,000, the total number of adults who completed a work experience program is approximately 34,973,000, and the total number of adults who did not complete a work experience program is approximately 129,151,000. The labor force participation rate is calculated as [(number of adults who are working) + (number of adults who are not working but looking for work)]/(total number of adults). A work experience program is defined in the survey as an internship, co-op, practicum, clerkship, externship, residency, clinical experience, apprenticeship, or similar program.
