Partners

Complex projects such as PIRLS cannot be accomplished by only one agency or organization. Throughout the course of PIRLS, the National Center for Education Statistics has relied on various partners to provide support in every aspect of the study. Listed below are the current PIRLS partners:

International Partners

The International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA) serves as the international coordinating body for PIRLS.

The TIMSS and PIRLS International Study Center at Boston College directs the study at the international level, including the design, operations, analysis, and reporting.

National Partners

Westat is the data collection and analysis contractor in the United States for PIRLS 2021.

Pearson Educational Measurement is the contractor in the United States tasked with data scoring and coding for PIRLS 2021.

The American Institutes for Research is the contractor in the United States tasked with management, technical, analytical, reporting, and dissemination support for PIRLS 2021.
