Quick Response Information System

Overview

TWO QUICK RESPONSE INFORMATION SYSTEMS:

NCES has established two survey systems to collect time-sensitive, issue-oriented data quickly and with minimal response burden. The Fast Response Survey System (FRSS) focuses on collecting data at the elementary and secondary school levels and from public libraries. The Postsecondary Education Quick Information System (PEQIS) collects data at the postsecondary level. These systems, subsumed under the general title, Quick Response Information System (QRIS), are used to meet the data needs of U.S. Department of Education analysts, planners, and decisionmakers when information cannot be obtained quickly through traditional National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) surveys.
