Title:	NELS:88 Base Year Sample Design Report
Description:	Using all 4 NELS:88 surveys, this technical report will provide a detailed review of the base year sample design, including both school and student selection, construction of the sampling frame, selection procedures, replacement procedures for ineligible and noncooperating schools, and basic weighting procedures. The report is organized into a description of the longitudinal studies program, an overview of the base year study, a detailed description of sample design and implementation, sample weights, unit nonresponse analysis; standard errors and design effects, and an evaluation of the overall sample design. This report will be of interest primarily to researchers and policy analysts who are users of the NELS:88 base year data.
