NCES 2024257 2022–23 Common Core of Data (CCD) Graduates/Completers Public-Use Data Files, version 1a
These data files are the product of the CCD data collection for the 2022–23 school year. The unduplicated number of graduates/completers are reported at state, district, and school levels for the 12-month period from October 1, 2022, through September 30, 2023. The state- and district-level data are released as restricted-use (RUD) and public-use (PUB) files, while the school-level data are only released as a RUD file.

Data users requiring the RUD files can apply to use the RUD data files through the Standard Application Process (SAP) portal.

NCES 2024048 High School & Beyond Longitudinal Study of 2022 (HS&B:22) Base Year Restricted-use Data File
The High School and Beyond Longitudinal Study of 2022 (HS&B:22) is the sixth in a series of longitudinal studies at the high school level conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). The base year restricted-use file provides data on a nationally representative sample of Fall 2022 ninth-graders, and their transitions into high school; academic achievement; the influence of their parents and the high school experience on student achievement and development; education equity; and changes in education practices over time.

NCES 2024225 U.S. Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) 2023 Technical Note
The Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) is a large-scale international study of working-age adults (ages 16–65) that assesses adult skills in three domains (literacy, numeracy, and adaptive problem solving) and collects information on adults’ education, work experience, and other background characteristics. This web-based technical note focuses on the U.S. PIAAC 2023 Main Study. The technical note is designed to provide researchers with a high-level overview of the design and implementation of PIAAC in the United States. The report includes information on sample design, survey instruments, the data collection procedures, data quality, weighting, scaling, data analysis, and the nonresponse bias analysis.

NCES 2024251 2023-24 Common Core of Data (CCD) Universe Files, Version 1a
These files are the product of the CCD data collection for the 2023–24 school year. Data are reported at state, district, and school levels and include staff full-time equivalent by professional category, as well as student membership disaggregated by grade, race/ethnicity, and sex. Also included are school-level counts of students eligible for free and reduced-price lunch. Along with the data files, four web tables summarizing select CCD data elements including the number and status of schools and local education agencies, as well as several CCD indicators by state, are also available.

NCES 2024055 School Survey on Crime and Safety (SSOCS): 2019-2020 Public Use Data Files
SSOCS is a nationally representative survey of public schools and collects detailed information from the schools’ perspective on the incidence, frequency, seriousness, and nature of violence affecting students and school personnel, as well as on the practices and programs schools have implemented to promote school safety.

NCES 2024311 FY 2022 School District Finance Survey Data, School Year 2021-22 (NCES 2024-311)
The School District Finance Survey (F–33) provides finance data for all local education agencies (LEAs) that provide free public elementary and secondary (prekindergarten through grade 12) education in the United States. The School District Finance Survey data file does not include national and state totals. The file includes variables for revenues by source, expenditures by function and object, indebtedness, assets, student membership counts, as well as identification variables. The file includes the following finance data: • Current expenditure totals for local education agencies (LEAs); • Federal, state, and local revenues for LEAs; • Current expenditure totals and current expenditure per pupil amounts by activity (e.g., instruction, support services) and specific expenditure (e.g., salaries and wages, employee benefits) for LEAs in each state; • Federal revenues received by LEAs, by program and state; • Local revenues by source, by LEA and state; and • Capital outlay expenditures by LEA and state.
