NCES 2014045REV Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) 2012 U.S. Public Use File (PUF)
The PIAAC U.S. PUF contains individual unit record data including both responses to the background questionnaire and the cognitive assessment from the original U.S. PIAAC data collection completed in 2012. Statistical disclosure control treatments were applied due to confidentiality concerns. For more details on the PUF, please refer to Appendix J of the U.S. PIAAC Technical Report (NCES 2014-047).

Important notes to users:
  1. These original 2012 data have been updated, reweighted, and revised with the release of the PIAAC 2012/2014 dataset (NCES 2016-667). That dataset should be used for analyses instead of this original version unless you are seeking to reproduce historic analyses.
  2. The OECD identified an error in the derivation of the following variables in the PIAAC original 2012 data files: NFE12JR, NFE12NJR, FNFE12JR, FNFAET12JR and FNFAET12NJR. NCES released revised U.S. public-use and restricted-use files, the background compendia, and the codebook on August 18, 2015. The revised public-use files are available below. IDE (International Data Explorer) was updated with the revised datafile on March 27, 2015. If you have any questions, please contact: holly.xie@ed.gov.

NCES 2012156REV Employees in Postsecondary Institutions, Fall 2011 and Student Financial Aid, Academic Year 2010–11 - First Look (Provisional Data)
This provisional First Look is a revised version of the preliminary report released August 7, 2012. it presents fully edited and imputed data findings on the number of staff employed in Title IV postsecondary institutions in fall 2011 by occupational category, length of contract/teaching period, employment status, faculty and tenure status, academic rank, race/ethnicity, and gender. The report also contains data on student financial aid, including the number of undergraduate students receiving aid and the amount of aid received by those students for the 2010-11 academic year.

NCES 2012245 2008-09 Baccalaureate and Beyond Longitudinal Study: Restricted-Use First Follow-up Data Files and File Documentation
The Baccalaureate and Beyond Longitudinal Study (B&B) examines students’ education and work experiences after they complete a bachelor’s degree, with a special emphasis on the experiences of new elementary and secondary teachers. The B&B:08/09 cohort also includes an oversample of STEM graduates.

This DVD-ROM contains the restricted-use base-year interview, first follow-up interview, and undergraduate transcript data for the 15,000 (approx.) B&B:08/09 sample members.

NCES 2013156 Web Tables—Trends in Debt for Bachelor’s Degree Recipients a Year After Graduation: 1994, 2001 and 2009
This report presents a comprehensive set of tables about the debt of recent college graduates for three cohorts of bachelor’s degree recipients spanning a 15-year period. Tables feature statistics on loan repayment, further educational pursuits, and employment status of first-time bachelor’s degree recipients who graduated in 1992–93, 1999–2000, and 2007–08. Borrowing and debt detail includes the percentage of college graduates who borrowed, the cumulative amount borrowed to obtain a bachelor’s degree, repayment status after 1 year, average amounts owed, average monthly payments, and debt burden for all three cohorts. Tables also present information about subsequent enrollment in post-bachelor’s education, participation in the labor market, including K-12 teaching, and annual salary. Lastly, tables present graduates’ debt status relative to their living arrangements, (with parents, own or rent residence), family formation, and whether borrowers had a spouse also repaying loans. All tables are broken out by key demographic, enrollment, and employment characteristics.

The restricted-use codebook contains the count of responses for each data item and all components of SASS in 2007-2008 and the 2008-2009 TFS. The TFS data and User's manual are the added features to this re-release of the 2007-2008 SASS restricted-use ECB.
