NCES 2018033 ECLS-K:2011 Public-Use Kindergarten-Fourth Grade Data File and Electronic Codebook
The Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, Kindergarten Class of 2010-11 (ECLS-K:2011) is a longitudinal study following a nationally representative sample of students from their kindergarten year to the spring of 2016, when most of the students are expected to be in fifth grade. This public-use data file includes information collected during the fall and spring of the 2010-11 school year, when all of the students were in kindergarten; the fall and spring of the 2011-12 school year, when most of the students were in first grade; the fall and spring of the 2012-13 school year, when most of the students were in second grade; the spring of 2014, when most of the students were in third grade; and the spring of 2015, when most of the students were in fourth grade. The file includes information collected from the students, their parents/guardians, their teachers, and their school administrators in each year of the study. It also includes information collected in the spring of 2011 from their kindergarten-year before- and after-school care providers.

NCES 2018091 ECLS-K:2011 Third-Grade Hearing Evaluations Component Restricted-Use Data File
Hearing evaluations were conducted on a subsample of study children in the spring third-grade round of data collection. The ECLS-K:2011 third-grade hearing evaluations component restricted-use data file includes all of the hearing evaluation data collected during the spring 2014 round, including: responses from children to a set of pre-test questions intended to identify conditions that might affect either how the evaluation should be conducted or how the results should be interpreted; results from otoscopy, a brief visual examination of the ear; results from tympanometry, an automated test of middle ear function; and results from pure tone air conduction audiometry. The hearing evaluations data are provided in an ASCII text file (K2011hearing3rd.DAT). A program that must be run in a statistical software package to input the ASCII text file and produce an analytic data file is provided in three formats: SAS, SPSS, and Stata. This file is intended to be used in conjunction with a main longitudinal restricted-use ECLS-K:2011 data file, for example the ECLS-K:2011 kindergarten-third grade restricted-use data file (NCES 2016-080).

NCES 2018104 National Household Education Survey Programs of 2016 Public-Use Data Files
Three surveys were fielded in 2016 as part of the National Household Education Surveys Program: the Early Childhood Program Participation survey (ECPP), the Parent and Family Involvement in Education survey (PFI), and the Adult Training and Education Survey (ATES). Data files and documentation can be downloaded directly from the website. Data files are being released for each of the three surveys and are being released with ASCII, SAS, SPSS, Stata, and R formats available.

NCES 2017120 Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2015 United States public-use data files
The data files include the U.S. PISA 2015 data files for students, teachers, and principals/schools, and include additional variables only available at the national level (e.g., student race/ethnicity). The public-use data files can be downloaded and analyzed by researchers interested in conducting secondary analyses. In addition to the U.S. data files, the product also includes a README file, illustrative merge code, a Quick Guide, variable codebooks, SAS and SPSS control files, and record layout files. The data files are presented in ASCII, and can be imported into any number of statistical programs, such as SAS, SPSS, or STATA. These public-use data files can be used on their own or merged with the international PISA database available for download from the OECD PISA website at http://www.oecd.org/pisa/data/. The 1996/01 Beginning Postsecondary Students Longitudinal Study (BPS:96/01) restricted-use data file contains data on a nationally representative sample of students who began postsecondary education for the first time in the 1995-96 academic year. These sample members were interviewed in their first, third, and sixth year since entering college. These record-level data are based on student interviews and other administrative data sources and allow users to examine topics related to enrollment, persistence, and degree attainment over six academic years, from 1995-96 to 2000-01. The file includes data from 2015 Federal Student Aid Supplement, which appended student loan data from the National Student Loan Data System through 2015.

The 2004/09 Beginning Postsecondary Students Longitudinal Study (BPS:04/09) restricted-use data file contains data on a nationally representative sample of students who began postsecondary education for the first time in the 2003-04 academic year. These sample members were interviewed in their first, third, and sixth year since entering college. These record-level data are based on student interviews and other administrative data sources and allow users to examine topics related to enrollment, persistence, and degree attainment over six academic years, from 2003-04 to 2008-09. The file includes data from the postsecondary education transcripts (PETS) and the 2015 Federal Student Aid Supplement (which appended student loan data from the National Student Loan Data System through 2015).
