David H. Monk

David H. Monk is chair of the Department of Education and Professor of Educational Administration at Cornell University. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of Chicago, and has taught in a visiting capacity at the University of Rochester and the University of Burgundy in Dijon, France. Monk is the author of Educational Finance: An Economic Approach (1990), as well as numerous articles in scholarly journals. He is a Senior Research Fellow for the Consortium for Policy Research in Education (CPRE) and serves on the editorial boards of The Economics of Education Review, The Journal of Educational Finance, and The Journal of Research in Rural Education. He recently chaired the technical study group appointed by the New York State Board of Regents to examine alternative revenue sources for New York State public schools. He consults widely on matters related to educational productivity and the organizational structuring of schools and school districts and is a past president of the American Educational Finance Association.Brian O. Brent is an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership in the Warner Graduate School of Education and Human Development at the University of Rochester. He earned his Ph.D. at Cornell University. Professor Brent is a Certified Public Accountant who also holds a Master's Degree in Taxation from Arizona State University. He is interested in revenue issues of public school finance.
Christopher F. Roellke is an Assistant Professor of Education at the University of Richmond, where he teaches educational policy, curriculum theory, and applications of technology to classroom teaching. He was formerly a Research and Teaching Support Specialist at Cornell University and a research assistant for the Consortium for Policy Research in Education (CPRE). His research interests are in the politics and economics of education and secondary school reform. He is the recipient of the 1997 outstanding doctoral dissertation award of the American Education Finance Association (AEFA), The Politics of Education Association (PEA), and Division A of the American Educational Research Association (AERA).
