1 The national total reflects the number of "Yes" responses for the column.
NOTE: One reviewer examined an elementary school report card for each state while another reviewer examined a high school report card for each state. Staff recorded a "Yes" to indicate the presence of each element in the spreadsheet, which also had space for additional details or notes about certain indicators. Once an element was found on one report card, reviewers did not look for that element on the other school report card. As a result, when Data Quality Campaign reports the number of states that have a certain element, it does not necessarily mean that it is available on both elementary and high school report cards. Once the data collection was complete, the results were reviewed to ensure consistency and accuracy. The Data Quality Campaign's annual review of state report cards, Show Me the Data, captures what information is available on state report cards. While the review includes some indicators that are federally required, the scope of the review is not limited to those indicators. The review, conducted in January 2020, reflects information published on the state report cards for all 50 states and the District of Columbia at a point in time and does not include updates made to state report cards after the review period or information published on other public resources.
