Major Outcomes:

The objective of this project is to enhance Nebraska's SLDS infrastructure to support at-risk students, including youth who are state wards and court wards placed in foster care and other court ordered placements or facilities. This will be achieved by accomplishing four goals as project outcomes.

• Implementing Policies, Procedures, and Systems to Improve the Educational Outcomes of At-Risk and Systems-Involved Students
• Access, Privacy, and Security of Data
• P-20W SLDS Cooperation between the NDE K-12 SLDS (ADVISER), ECIDS, and NSWERS systems
• Strengthen NDE Data Governance by incorporating stakeholder input on matters related to data visualizations, as well as the provision of comprehensive training on data privacy, security, and utilization

Major Outcomes:

• Incorporation of Special Education and Curriculum segments to create a more comprehensive system: Creating a special education template, which will streamline the collection of special education data and make the data more accessible and useful by having it in the data warehouse with the other NDE data.
• Implementation of the Data Quality Curriculum: The DQC is in the final stages of development by a special task force of the National Forum on Education Statistics. The Data Quality Curriculum will improve the overall quality of data in our statewide system by providing training to local personnel in the creation, collection and reporting of education data.
