2020 SLDS Best Practices Conference

The 2020 SLDS Best Practices Conference will be a virtual event held November 17-18, 2020 and composed of recorded and live sessions. In preparation, the SLDS State Support Team is sending out this Call for Feedback & Proposals. Proposal submissions are due Friday, September 25, 2020.

  • All states and territories are asked to provide input on the topical focus areas for the conference by following the link below - even if a state/territory does not wish to submit a proposal.
  • All states and territories are invited to submit proposals aligned to conference topics (see below).
    • All active FY15 and FY19 grantees will be required to contribute to at least one session and participate in the conference.
    • Proposals may be submitted for the following session types:
      • A recorded presentation
      • Serve as a member of a recorded, moderated panel with SST facilitator
      • Serve as a member of a live, moderated panel with SST facilitator
      • Facilitate a virtual round table discussion
  • FY19 grantees are also required to participate in a virtual pre-conference day on November 16.

  • Fiscal Equity and Return on Investment Data Use

Overall, the 2020 SLDS Best Practices Conference will provide opportunities for states and territories to:

  • Demonstrate tangible outcomes of SLDS use
  • Improve efficiencies through peer learning opportunities
  • Increase collaboration among the SLDS community
  • Showcase best practices for collaboration among partners
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of other states' work

There will be more to follow regarding the conference registration (early October) and a detailed draft agenda. If you are interested in attending, please complete the registration form by October 23, 2020, and we will follow up with you within five business days regarding your approval.

  • Registering prior to the conference is required; only registered participants will receive invitations to the live sessions and access to the recorded sessions.
  • There is no limit on how many state and territory agency staff may register.
  • The annual SLDS Best Practices Conference is a closed meeting intended for state and territory agency staff. It is not open to the vendor community.

  • 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM Session 1
  • 2:30 PM – 4:00 PM Session 2
