1Includes degrees in unknown fields of study.
2Includes personal, hygiene and occupational health, security, transport, and other services.
3Refers to the mean of the data values for all reporting Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries, to which each country reporting data contributes equally.
NOTE: All data in this table refer to total postsecondary degrees, as calculated using International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED) 2011. Total postsecondary degrees correspond to degrees at the associate's level and above in the United States. They include degrees at ISCED 2011 level 5 (corresponding to an associate's degree in the United States), level 6 (bachelor's or equivalent degree), level 7 (master's or equivalent degree), and level 8 (doctoral or equivalent degree). Degree fields were classified using ISCED Fields of Education and Training 2013 (ISCED-F 2013). Data are collected for the school year ending in the reported year for each country. For example, for reported year 2020, the reference period is school year 2019-2020 for Northern Hemisphere countries and 2020 for Southern Hemisphere countries. For more information on the school year reported by OECD countries, see Annex Table X1.3 here: https://stat.link/3ha7ok.
