Includes enrollments in local public school systems and in most private schools (religiously affiliated and nonsectarian). Excludes private preprimary enrollment in schools that do not offer kindergarten or above. Degree-granting institutions grant associate’s or higher degrees and participate in Title IV federal financial aid programs. Data for teachers and other staff in public and private elementary and secondary schools and colleges and universities are reported in terms of full-time equivalents. Projections in this table were calculated after the onset of the coronavirus pandemic and take into account the expected impacts of the pandemic.
