A certificate or diploma program at a school that provides occupational training. Such a program usually takes 2 years or less to complete and often leads to a license, such as cosmetology.
SES was measured by a composite score based on parental education and occupations, family income, and school urbanicity in the student's 11th-grade year. The weighted SES distribution (weighted by W2STUDENT) was divided into five equal groups. Low SES corresponds to the lowest one-fifth of the population, and high SES corresponds to the highest one-fifth of the population. The three fifths in the middle were combined to form the middle SES category.
Includes integrated math, algebra III, probability and statistics, and non-calculus Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) courses.
 Includes AP/IB calculus.
 Ranges from 0 to 59.
Includes all courses and ranges from 0 to 4.
The average applies to all students who took the SAT or ACT. For those who took the SAT, the combined critical reading and mathematics score was used. For those who took the ACT, scores were converted to the equivalent of the SAT combined score. Scale ranges from 400 to 1600.
NOTE: Includes students who completed high school by September 2013. Estimates weighted by W3W1W2STUTR. Race categories exclude persons of Hispanic ethnicity. Detail may not sum to totals because of rounding.
