Students’ Use of Alcohol and Alcohol-Related Discipline Incidents

Between 1993 and 2013, the percentage of students in grades 9–12 who reported having at least one drink of alcohol during the previous 30 days decreased from 48 to 35 percent. The percentage who reported consuming alcohol in 2013 was lower than the percentage in 2011 (39 percent). In 2011, some 5 percent of students in grades 9–12 reported having at least one drink of alcohol on school property.
