PIAAC U.S. 2023 Technical Note Now Available (December 10, 2024)
The Technical Note for the U.S. Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) 2023 is now available. This report provides a high-level overview of the design and implementation of PIAAC in the United States, along with cautions in interpreting the data.
Highlights of the 2023 U.S. PIAAC Results Now Available (December 10, 2024)
Highlights results for U.S. adults from the most recent 2023 data collection in comparison with the 2017 data collection and the combined 2012/14 data collection. Results are available for all three domains (literacy, numeracy, and adaptive problem solving), as well as results for the following key variables: gender, age, race/ethnicity, educational attainment, current employment status, nativity, and self-reported health status. Changes in demographics as well as changes in performance within each of the
variables between 2017 and 2023 are discussed, along with cautions in interpreting the data.
New Data on Postsecondary Graduation Rates, Outcome Measures, Student Financial Aid, and Admissions. (December 5, 2024)
This provisional set of web tables presents fully edited and imputed data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) winter 2023-24 data collection, which included five survey components: Graduation Rates (at 150% and 200% of normal program completion time) for selected cohorts 2015-20, Outcome Measures for cohort year 2015-16, Student Financial Aid data for the academic year 2022-23, as well as Admissions for fall 2023.
2023–24 Common Core of Data (CCD) Universe Data Files now available (December 5, 2024)
These files are a product of the Common Core of Data (CCD) data collection for the 2023–24 school year. Data are reported at state, district, and school levels and include staff counts by professional category, as well as student membership disaggregated by grade, race/ethnicity, and sex. Also included are school-level counts of students eligible for free and reduced-price lunch. Along with the data files, four web tables summarizing selected CCD indicators are also available.
TIMSS 2023 U.S. Highlights Web Report (December 4, 2024)
This web report provides key comparative results from the most recent cycle of the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) at the 4th and 8th grades. Findings and interactive figures show how the United States and other education systems performed in 2023. Changes in performance from previous administrations and results by student demographics are also included.
