Every month we will give you a math/statistics brain teaser that lets you test your
knowledge with a fun problem.
This Month's Challenge: Back to School Special — 01. Classroom Setup!
Mrs. Johnson wants to divide her classroom into 3 zones: Reading, Math, and Science. The classroom is 600 square feet in total. She wants the Reading zone to be twice as large as the Math zone, and the Science zone to be three times as large as the Math zone.

The Answer!
Math zone: 100 sq ft, Reading zone: 200 sq ft, Science zone: 300 sq ft.
Let the Math zone be x sq ft. Then, the Reading zone would be 2x sq ft, and the Science zone would be 3x sq ft.
x + 2x + 3x = 600
6x = 600
x = 100
Therefore, the Math zone should be 100 sq ft, the Reading zone should be 200 sq ft, and the Science zone should be 300 sq ft.
