School and Student Participation Results for the 2006 Assessment

The three links below lead to tables that present response rates for the NAEP 2006 public and private school samples for fourth, eighth, and twelfth grades in the civics, economics, and U.S. history assessments. Response rates differ by subject as some schools were sampled for all subjects, whereas other schools were only sampled for one or two subjects. The tables show response rates both before the substitutes for originally sampled nonrespondents were included. According to National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) standards, response rates below 85 percent require a nonresponse bias analysis.

The three links below lead to tables that present the overall weighted student response rates and exclusion rates for the civics, economics and U.S. History assessments for public and private school students in fourth, eighth, and twelfth grades. Excluded students were identified as they were in the 2005 grades 4 and 8 state assessments.
