​​The ​NAEP 2020 reading long-term trend assessment cognitive instruments were a subset of those used in the 2012 long-term trend assessment. The table below displays the 2020 reading long-term trend assessment new and common blocks​ for ages 9 and 13. Although a limited number of 2012 reading​ long-term trend tables that were included in the Technical Documentation on the W​eb (TDW)​ used block naming conventions PDF File icon ​from the Restricted-Use Data Products rather than TDW, all ​2020 blocks​ are in fact common to 2012.
