Upon completion of all general sessions, field staff calculate the total session attendance rate to determine whether a make-up session must be scheduled. A make-up session is required when the total session attendance rate is below 90 percent. Field staff schedule a make up session with the school coordinator prior to departing the school.
Field staff calculate the total session attendance rate using the following formula:
Add the number of students originally sampled plus any sampled newly identified students to obtain the total number of students sampled.
Add the number of students who refused to participate or whose parents refused to permit them to participate to obtain the total number of refusals.
Subtract the refusals from the number sampled to determine the number of students to be assessed.
Divide the number of students assessed by the number to be assessed. If the quotient is below 90 percent, a make-up session is required.
