NOTE: Title IV institutions are those with a written agreement with the Secretary of Education that allows the institution to participate in any of the Title IV federal student financial assistance programs. Though they are not Title IV eligible, four of the U.S. service academies are included in the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) universe because they are federally funded and open to the public. The full-time equivalent (FTE) enrollment displayed in this table is the based on instructional activity over the 12-month period July 1, 2010, to June 30, 2011. For institutions following a quarter calendar system, 45 undergraduate credit hours is considered one FTE student. For institutions following a semester, trimester, 4-1-4, or other academic year calendar system, 30 undergraduate credit hours is considered one FTE student. For institutions reporting instructional activity in contact hours, 900 undergraduate contact hours is considered one FTE student.
