National Center for Education Statistics

1 Based on the Carnegie Foundation's Basic Classification, which is an update of the traditional classification framework developed by the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education in 1970 to support its research program and published in 1973 for use by other researchers.

NOTE: Data are for degree-granting institutions and administrative offices with 15 or more full-time staff.
