NOTE: Adult basic education provides instruction in basic skills for adults 16 and over functioning at literacy levels below the secondary level. Adult secondary education provides instruction at the high school level for adults who are seeking to pass the GED or obtain an adult high school credential. English as a second language instruction is for adults who lack proficiency in English and who seek to improve their literacy and competence in English. Some data have been revised from previously published figures.
