American Community Survey 2006-2008

Geography Type

A collective term referring to the types of geographic areas used by the Census Bureau in its data collection and tabulation operations. The Census Bureau reports data for a wide variety of geographic types, ranging from the entire United States down to a Census Block. The geographic types that a survey reports on will depend upon the survey’s purpose, and how the data were collected. This application provides data related to US, American Indian Areas, State, County and School District levels.

Enrollment Type

This iteration identify three subsets of children. First, they offer a distinction between total children and relevant children. This distinction is pertinent to Elementary and Secondary school districts that may have overlapping geography. In these cases, the enrollment categories allow the selection of all children residing within the district boundaries or the selection of all children for whom the district is responsible. Second, the enrollment categories offer a distinction between children who are enrolled in school and those who are not. Third, for children who are enrolled, the enrollment categories offer a final distinction between those children enrolled in Public schools and those enrolled in Private schools. As mentioned earlier, these distinctions are based on a child’s place of residence. Actual school attendance (public or private) may be outside the area of residence.

Primary Table Category

This application groups all the tables from the American Community Survey under two table Categories namely Primary Table Category and Secondary Table Category. The groupings are intended to be a guide to narrow down the search for a particular 2005 American Community Survey table. All the survey tables are grouped under seven categories. Please select any one of the primary categories.

Secondary Table Category

Based on the choice made by the user with the Primary Table Category, the application provides a list of sub categories associated with the prime category. Please select any one of the secondary table category to view the tables associated with the choices you have made.
