NOTE: Detail may not sum to totals due to missing race/ethnic data. Data exclude enrollment in schools without information on eligibility for free or reduced-price lunch. The National School Lunch Program is a federally assisted meal program. To be eligible, a student must be from a household with an income at or below 130 percent of the poverty threshold for free lunch or between 130 percent and 185 percent of the poverty threshold for reduced-price lunch. In total, 1,286 public schools with student enrollment did not report information on the number of students eligible for free or reduced-price lunch. Therefore, this information is missing for 474,912 students and these students are not included in this table. Race categories exclude persons of Hispanic ethnicity. For motre information on race/ethnicity, see http://nces.ed.gov/programs/digest/d11/app_b.asp. For more details on urban-centric locale categories, see http://nces.ed.gov/surveys/ruraled/definitions.asp.
