Data from 2000 were NAEP-defined regions such that Delaware, District of Columbia, and Maryland were classified as Northeast, and Oklahoma and Texas were classified as West (For more details, see figure A.2 of The Nation’s Report Card: Mathematics 2003 (NCES 2005–451)).
