PIAAC Frameworks

PIAAC's frameworks provide an overview of the conceptual basis that guided the development of the PIAAC background questionnaire, as well as tasks in literacy, numeracy, reading components, and "problem solving in technology-rich environments" (PS-TRE) domains.   Each domain has a framework that explains how the domain is defined and describes the assumptions underlying that definition. The frameworks outline how each domain is to be assessed, the range of skills that to be measured, the types of items to be used, as well as the content areas, contexts, and situations in adults' lives which require literacy, numeracy, and/or problem solving skills.
